“OUR STRATEGY IS CENTERED IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSING OF SOCIAL INTEREST”

Prodesa is a construction company that has more than 20 years of experience in the Colombian market, especially with operations in Bogotá and Barranquilla and now, consolidating in Miami, United States. Maintaining its leadership position in affordable housing in Colombia, Prodesa has expanded to all types of housing, including high-income housing, offices and retail. This is why today we want to highlight Juan Antonio Pardo, president of the construction company. Congratulations!

In Work: How did Prodesa last year?

Juan Antonio Pardo: 2014 was a very important year for the company, we delivered 5,000 homes. Around 3,000 homes were built in Bogota and neighboring municipalities and the remaining homes in the Caribbean Coast with the free housing program of the National Government, an operation that represented a very important challenge for us. Additionally, in 2014 we reached the highest level of separations in the history of Prodesa.

EO: How do you see 2015? What income do you expect to have at the end of the year?

JAP: In general terms 2015 has been a very dynamic year, consolidating our presence in the Caribbean Region, with the launch of four different housing projects and a large project in Cartagena, the Cartagena Global Center that includes hotel, offices and shopping center . In Bogotá we continue with a very important dynamic, estimating to deliver in the remainder of the year about 2000 homes.

Our project in the United States is closing sales and construction has begun. On the other hand, in this last semester we will launch a new project located in Florida. Additionally, we continue with the development plans for our collaborators in order to
to provide our customers with a better service and a higher quality product.

EO: What new projects are coming for Prodesa?

J.A.P: This end of the year we are planning to start the sales of projects in Barranquilla, Mosquera, Madrid, Soacha and La Florida, United States. In addition, we will have a commercial project in Cota, which complements our Palo de Agua residential complex. We have planned to start sales during the first quarter of next year, of projects in Ibagué and Girardot.

EO: In which segments are you going to concentrate?

J.A.P: The company’s strategy continues to focus on housing construction with emphasis on Social Interest Housing, based on providing our clients with projects that meet the highest quality standards and with their needs.

Additionally, we are working on several non-commercial projects that complement the housing offer, seeking an integral development that improves the quality of life of the communities.

EO: What projects do you have in other cities?

J.A.P: Today we have a housing offer in Barranquilla and in the municipality of Soledad, in the department of Atlántico; a commercial project in Cartagena and we are working on housing development in this city. On the other hand, very soon we will have sales in Girardot and Ibagué. We will continue with our presence in Bogotá, Cota, Madrid, Mosquera, Soacha; and we will maintain our presence in the United States with housing projects.

EO: In general issues, how do you see the construction sector in the country?

JAP: It is a consolidated sector that is allowing the development of municipalities and intermediate cities, not only with the construction of housing but with the urban development that the projects entail, with the execution of avenues, bike paths, aqueducts, sewers, parks public, cession areas, where schools, child development centers, universities and many other social facilities are built for the benefit of both new inhabitants and those who have seen the transformation of their city.
